Ed Anderson is an intellectual property attorney active in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international applications for patents and trademarks. He has extensive experience in many technical arts, with emphasis in the electrical, electronic, and computer arts. He regularly counsels clients on licensing, transfers, freedom to operate, enforcement, trade secrets, and copyrights. He provides strategic planning for enterprises at all stages of development. Ed supports clients from our Portland office and from our Bay Area office in Palo Alto, California.

My Experience

Ed has more than 30 years of experience in intellectual property law. He began his IP career with Kolisch, Hartwell & Dickinson and helped establish our Palo Alto office to serve California and the Silicon Valley. Ed’s extensive experience inside and outside the legal field over the years allows him to excel in his treatment of many technical fields, including:
  • Computers, computer peripherals, software, networks, and data processing
  • Telecommunications including radio-frequency (RF) systems for circuits and transmission-line structures
  • Digital and analog signal processing
  • Security management and RF passenger-screening systems
  • Electronic devices and control systems
  • Energy-conserving lighting systems and power supplies
  • Millimeter-wave, magnetic, and digital imaging
  • Internet-based commerce and business methods
  • Medical, mechanical, forensic, and optical devices
  • Radar signal processing.
In addition to serving established companies and individual inventors, he has assisted many start-up companies from conception through venture capital funding, acquisition, and IPO.
